The HBAR Foundation Supports Hedera Hackathon as Premier Sponsor with $500k in Developer Grants

The HBAR Foundation is eager to serve as the Premier Sponsor for Hedera’s H22 Hedera Hackathon - Hello Smart Contracts with $500k in developer grants. The virtual hackathon will begin on March 31st, 2022, and the hackathon will support development teams that showcase how Hedera can support high performance, low cost and sustainable Solidity smart contracts for dApps in use cases ranging from DeFi to sustainability.

The HBAR Foundation team, including Don Thibeau, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at the HBAR Foundation, will serve as hackathon judges and mentors across various challenges.

The hackathon will run from March 31st to May 16th and will feature approximately $500K worth of prizes for various challenges including for topics such as decentralized storage, sustainability, payments, DeFi, onramps and NFT’s. 

The HBAR Foundation will also host a public investor pitch event on June 1st at 8 AM PST/11 AM EST following the hackathon in order to feature key projects within the Hedera ecosystem to a larger audience. This will allow projects built through the project to accelerate follow-on opportunities for fundraising.
